How many images do I get in my session?
- Depending on your session type, most portrait sessions include 10 digital files. You can purchase all the images for an additional price. "All" images means every "keeper" image after I have culled through and taken out the pictures that are blurry, multiples, unflattering, etc.
- Mini sessions include 5 digital images.
- For your online digital galleries, a typical 45 minute portrait session will have at least 75 images, mini sessions around 30-40, and weddings tend to be around 75-100 images per hour photographed.
How soon after my session will I get to view my images?
- Most sessions are edited & uploaded 10-14 days after.
- Weddings are 6-8 weeks
- Special events are around 7-10 days.
What does my session include?
- Family and portrait sessions are 45 minutes long and include an online session gallery to view your portraits, light retouching, and around 75 images.
- Newborns include up to 2 hours in-studio or lifestyle session in-home or 1 hour in-studio micro session, depending on baby's mood. Light retouching, and a online session gallery with around 30-50 images.
- Headshots include up to 15 minutes, up to two outfit changes, around 20 images onto your online session gallery, and two edited hi-res images with a copyright to use and print those two images. These can be taken in studio or outdoors.
Do you edit my images?
- Your session will have light retouching, including color correcting and exposure. Additional editing (including but not limited to skin softening, whitening teeth, editing out people or objects in the background, etc.) can be done at an additional cost of $20/ image. However, additional editing and image retouching is included if you purchase a canvas or large print (11x14" or larger).
How far in advance should I book my portrait session with you?
- There is no rush on booking your session, but depending on the time of year, session availability is more limited around fall and winter time. With that being said, booking at least 1-2 months before your desired session date is usually the best chance on grabbing the best times and dates that work for you.
- Keep in mind that most weekends book up fast, so if only weekends work best for your schedule, you should book your session sooner than later. Weekdays tend to be a little more flexible.
What is your cancellation policy?
- I understand that life gets in the way, believe me! So if something comes up, please contact me as soon as possible. If you rebook to another date 72 hours or more before your shoot, your $50 non-refundable deposit can be applied to a rescheduled session up to 12 months after your original session date.
- If you cancel within 71 hours or less, no-show to your booked session or are more than 20 minutes late to your reserved time slot, your $50 deposit will not be transferrable to a rescheduled shoot. If you are running late, then the time you arrive will not extend the time your session was scheduled to end.
What is your cancellation policy if it rains?
- Weather is unpredictable, we all know this. So, typically I don't cancel until a few hours before if I know it will rain on us. For example, a 30% chance of rain does not mean a full-on downpour, so I will try not to reschedule. However, if we do, you can choose to have your session in the studio or reschedule to another day. Your deposit is non-refundable even with rain, but will be applied towards your rescheduled session.
Where do you shoot your sessions? Are they in a studio or outside?
- Being a mostly natural light photographer, I shoot there majority of my sessions outside. I tend to shoot locally, but YES I do travel for sessions as well, which is a $.65/mile round trip fee outside of the tri-valley (Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin area). If you are booking a lifestyle session or newborn, I can also come to your house and shoot indoors to capture you and your family.
- Studio sessions are an ideal option for sessions mid-day where the light is harsh outside, after dark when can can't use sunlight on location, or if the weather turns on us.
Can I bring props to my session?
- YES, I love when clients bring fun props to there sessions. My style is natural and timeless, so I normally do not provide props. I will however incorporate some fun props that you provide and anything extra you want to include to best capture the dynamic of your family.
- For example, if your son has a favorite dinosaur toy that he never puts down, then why not include it in some pictures? It captures him at this time in his life where Mr. Dino was his best friend. Or if your family loves baseball, then why not bring a bat and some balls and we can grab some candids of an impromptu family baseball duel in the park? How fun!
